The 10th ICOMOS-Wuhan Crossover Forum on “Engineering - Culture - Heritage: Conservation and Utilization of Post-1950 Industrial Heritage” was successfully held in Wuhan on December 5th, 2021. Domestic experts, scholars and cultural heritage workers gathered at HUST for a spirited discussion, and foreign experts from the United States, Canada, Portugal and other countries participated online, advising and contributing to the sustainable development of industrial heritage after 1950.
The forum also jointly launched the Wuhan Initiative on the Promotion of the Conservation and Utilization of Contemporary Industrial Heritage, calling on all sectors of society to work together to explore the value of contemporary industrial heritage and promote social development.

At the forum, domestic and foreign experts shared about the conservation and utilization of Shanghai Huangpu Riverside Industrial Heritage, Gezhouba Industrial Heritage, Yangtze River Industrial Heritage, etc. The endeavor by Wuhan to enhance and utilize the functions of industrial heritage tourism was introduced.
The 10th forum was guided and supported by the municipal government of Wuhan and the Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, hosted and organized by CADI, Wuhan Research Society on Shared Built Heritage, HUST, Wuhan Tourism&Sports Group, UNESCO Chair on Industrial Heritage, and ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Shared Built Heritage, etc.
